The Connecticut MG Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting its member’s enjoyment of the MG marque of LBCs (Little British Cars). MG, which stands for Morris Garages, was established in 1924 in Oxford, England and continued production of models of both Saloons (sedans) and Sports Cars until 1980.
Since 1987 the Connecticut MG Club has been a great place for owners of all MGs and people who like MGs to meet, greet, have tech sessions and show their cars. We have more than 250 members, and cars in the club include a wide variety of models, from sedans to the classic MG-TD, MG-TF to the popular MGA, MG Midget, MGB, MGB-GT and MGC. We gather monthly in Portland for club meetings and we have five Regional Groups that meet at other times in various places for local activities.
The Connecticut MG Club hosts an annual gathering and car show at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford. The event, known as British By The Sea, provides an opportunity for more than 325 LBC lovers to meet to show off their beloved British cars, trucks and motorcycles. All the famous British Marques are represented in more than 30 classes including not only many models of MGs, but also such famous marques as Triumph, Jaguar, Austin Healey, TVR, Cooper, Riley, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lotus, Land Rover, etc. and motorcycles such as Triumph, Norton and BSA.
